What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is a hands-on treatment provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) who uses specialized techniques to assess and treat muscles, soft tissues, and other structures of the body. RMTs apply techniques such as massage, stretching, and pressure to help reduce muscle tension, relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote relaxation and overall well-being.
Massage therapy can be used to address a variety of concerns, including muscle soreness, stress, headaches, injuries, and limited range of motion. A Registered Massage Therapist assesses each client’s needs and develops a treatment approach based on their individual condition and goals.
Your appointment begins with a brief assessment to discuss your health history, symptoms, and treatment objectives. Using a variety of evidence-informed techniques, your Registered Massage Therapist will create a personalized treatment plan that may include therapeutic massage, deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, or relaxation-focused treatment, depending on what is most appropriate for you.
